Chicago Cubs' Pitcher Justin Steele Out For Season

Chicago Cubs pitcher Justin Steele has found himself with a serious injury to his flexor tendon and UCL in his left pitching elbow.

Steele has had a history of elbow injuries, including Tommy John surgery back in 2017 and left elbow tendinitis last year.

He experienced pain and tightness and reported it to his manager, Craig Counsell. At this time, it is unknown if Steele will have to undergo another Tommy John surgery or if the issue can be fixed with and internal brace.

"On a day like this, you feel for Justin," Counsell said. "It's kind of the life of a major league pitcher, these injuries that make you miss most of seasons. But I talked to him this morning, and he has a great attitude about it, as he always does. He knowns that it's part of the career he's chosen, and he's going to take it a step at a time and do the best he can to come back even better."
