A Slice of Heaven: Aurelio's is Serving Up a New Pizza

We Didn't Think Pizza Could Get Any Holier!

Aurelio’s Pizza is ready to unveil a divine new addition to its menu: the Poperoni Pizza, created in honor of Chicago’s own Pope Leo XIV.

According to reports, Pope Leo XIV has been a longtime fan of Aurelio’s Pizza in Homewood. The Chicago Tribune noted he was last spotted dining there last summer with an old college friend, Jim Priestly. Following that visit, the Homewood location officially designated his favorite booth as the “Pope Leo XIV Table.”

The Poperoni Pizza is a classic pepperoni pie taken to heavenly heights. It’s generously topped with “cup and crisp” pepperoni, which curls and chars slightly as they bake, adding a perfect mix of spice, crunch, and rich flavor. As Aurelio’s puts it, “The cup and crisp pepperoni adds texture, spice, flavor, and value to every bite.”

While Aurelio’s no longer has a location in the city of Chicago, fans can still find the Poperoni Pizza at their suburban spots, including Oakbrook, Hammond, La Grange, and South Holland.

A large Poperoni Pizza is currently priced at $32.75. Divine inspiration doesn’t come cheap—but it sure tastes good.
