Ozzy Osbourne’s final show turned into one of the most emotional moments of his entire career.
In his new book Last Rites, completed just before his death, Ozzy opened up about that night in Birmingham the city where it all began. He performed from a custom-built throne, looking out at more than forty thousand fans and millions more watching online. After years of pain and health struggles, that moment hit him hard.
“It was my last hurrah,” he wrote. “There was so much love in that stadium, coming at me in waves. The crowd noticed I was struggling and sang the words back to me.”
The night ended with a reunion of his Black Sabbath bandmates and crew a full-circle moment that Ozzy called “the best medicine” he’d had in six years.
