Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has released a new lyric video for “Firefly,” a tribute to Layne Staley, Chester Bennington, and Chris Cornell.
The song appears on the band’s latest album Kiss The Machine, released in May through Pavement Entertainment. Scantlin said he wrote “Firefly” to honor the voices that “lit a fire” in him, artists who fought their own battles but left behind lasting light.
“I’ve been through my own struggles too,” Scantlin shared. “Music heals me, and I hope it heals others as well.”
He also drew inspiration from childhood memories of catching fireflies with his grandmother, blending nostalgia and loss into one message finding light even in the darkest times.
“Firefly” stands as both a tribute and a reminder that connection keeps their spark alive! It's Incredible how music makes you capture a moment and help you squeeze it and hold. Per BLABBERMOUT.NET
